Sportsnet began Sunday's broadcast ahead of the Toronto Maple Leafs' contest against the Chicago Blackhawks with an apology from Ron MacLean in Welland, Ontario. The host of Rogers Hometown Hockey and Hockey Night in Canada's Coach's Corner segment, MacLean was somber while reflecting on the remarks made by his co-host, Don Cherry, regarding immigrants on Saturday night. Maclean echoed similar remarks in a couple of tweets published shortly after he completed his on-air statement.
