Roman Reigns returned to WWE at SummerSlam in 2020, attacking Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt in their WWE Universal Championship match. At Payback, the very next week, he captured the title in a No Holds Barred match. That win set in motion a 1316-day title reign and the creation of the Bloodline.
Even though the group is now known as MFT with Solo Sikoa, Talla Tonga, and Tama Tonga, the group began with Reigns. They had their ups and downs, with Sikoa firmly taking over after Reigns lost the title at WrestleMania XL.
After a months-long hiatus and many battles with MFT and the Vision, he won the Royal Rumble this year. At WrestleMania: Vegas, he became the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion, beating CM Punk. With Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso by his side once again, it seems like the trio is looking to dominate WWE Raw once again. After Clash in Italy, another man joined them, making them stronger and more dangerous to the rest of the roster.
Jacob Fatu first appeared on WWE programming on the June 21, 2024, episode of Friday Night SmackDown, joining MFT, then known still as the Bloodline. But when JC Mateo joined last summer, tension began between him and Sikoa. At Money in the Bank last year, he left the Bloodline, setting off on his own and being confident by betting on himself. That confidence led him right to Reigns.
When Reigns became World Heavyweight Champion, he spent the April 20, 2026, WWE Raw wondering who his first challenger could be. Fatu walked out, demanding a title opportunity. Reigns refused, saying he hadn’t earned it and that handing him a title shot would be nepotism.

He then applied the Tongan Death Grip, which is only used in the most extreme of situations. That led to weeks of confrontations and a match at Backlash. Reigns won, but was brutally attacked afterward, setting up a rematch.
He was then challenged to Tribal Combat, which he accepted. But an interesting stipulation was attached. If Fatu lost, he would have to acknowledge him and take his place beside Jey and Jimmy. That stipulation was agreed upon, with Fatu losing at Clash in Italy.
On the June 1 Raw, Reigns and the Usos walked out with their fingers to the sky and Reigns with the World Heavyweight Championship on his shoulder and the Ula Fala hanging around his neck. He got the crowd to acknowledge him, but would Fatu do the same? Fatu walked out, seemingly accepting his fate.
He knew he had to acknowledge Reigns. Not doing so would guarantee another match at Night of Champions, but facing Reigns three times in less than a month could’ve been a disaster. He decided to be smart and join forces with the man who beat him for the second time in three weeks.
Standing face to face with Reigns, he said he knew the consequences if he lost the match. He said he lost, but said that losing was nothing new to him. In addition, he told him that his children had to watch him lose the match on Sunday. But he also said that they’ll watch him keep the promise of acknowledging Reigns.

In a stunning move, he stated that he acknowledged him as his Tribal Chief, kneeling down before he got pulled up with an extremely firm grip. Jimmy then welcomed him to their group, clearly excited about their new addition. All four of them then raised their fingers to the sky, standing united as a family.
However, that doesn’t mean that Fatu will be loyal to them. He could stick with them or betray them at any time. But for now, he has acknowledged the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns and aligned with the Usos, making their group even stronger than before.
