Roma targeting Verona’s Belghali
A stronger Roma, not only in attack, but also in general. A new category has been added to Gian Piero Gasperini’s list following Celik’s move to Juventus.
One name that has been circulating around Trigoria to fill the gap left by the Turk is Rafik Belghali, who Gasperini and D’Amico admired last year at Verona.
Hellas Verona’s relegation has put the Algerian (with a Belgian passport) on the market, and the Giallorossi are among the frontrunners, writes Francesco Balzani in La Gazzetta dello Sport.
His price is €15 million, his salary is well within his reach, and relations with Verona are excellent following the Ghilardi deal.
Furthermore, Belghali can play on both flanks, just like Celik. Nottingham’s Savona remains in the running. Roma, in fact, have several doubts about Angelino’s fitness after his long layoff.
