Roma keen on Ruggeri, but pricetag makes deal difficult


Roma, awaiting the official announcement of Tony D’Amico as their new sporting director, is monitoring various situations to improve Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad.


The club is looking for both tall and short wingers, namely, teammates for the only certainty, Wesley (who will miss the World Cup due to injury).


The Roman club has its eye on Matteo Ruggeri.


The 2002-born player developed at Atalanta under Gasperini, a coach who allowed him to blossom and move to Atletico Madrid, coached by Simeone.


Roma has inquired about Matteo Ruggeri. The left-back played 109 games for Atalanta under Gian Piero Gasperini, scoring two goals and 10 assists. As La Gazzetta dello Sport reports, the 2002-born player would like to return to Italy, but convincing Atletico Madrid to sell him will require at least €25 million.


Before making such an investment in a currently non-priority area of the pitch, Roma will need to make some sales. Among the players who could soon leave the capital is Ziolkowski, who is interested in Nottingham Forest.
