Rod Graves Pro/Con list

Many people on this board have been asking "what has Graves done to give us faith in him. I for one have been more impressed than depressed about the direction the cardinals have taken in the last few months, so I decided to come up with a list to try and quantify where I think he's taken the team.

Pros -

1. Extentions of key Vets and young players, McKinnion, Wakefield, Shipp

2. More access to the team; through Jim O, Jurecki and Graves interviews.

3. Reduced ticket prices on the cheap seats

4. Removed dead weight through cuts or FA; Plummer, Sanders, Fredrickson, Grut, Rutledge, Jackson, Burke

5. Forced a change in the Coaching staff to promote Sully, although now I am thinking he should have gone all the way and fired McGinnis as well.

6. "Appears" to have a plan


Cons - (so far)

1. Allowed Boston to leave with no compensation.


Although the Boston con is a huge one imo, I don't think it outweighs ALL of the pros...yet.

I know not everyone will agree with my list, but I am sure that there a other points than can be added to both sides of the list as well.

Well, if you're going to put those reduced tickets on the pro list, you have to put the fact that more than 90% of tickets went up in price on the con list. Right now, I'm paying more for less.

hmm, how about these cons:

hasn't signed a single fa other than the extensions we gave to our players and resigning some LOWER level talent from our own talent-bereft team

allowed mcginnis to retain the services of mean joe greene

his "plan" seems to be nothing more than spin and "be patient" or "wait 'til training camp" like he's gonna pull a friggin' rabbit outta his hat . . . as far as i can see, there's no rabbits out there than can improve our team that dramatically any longer.

finally, he's a nice guy. i'm sure you all like him. nice guys finish last, particularly in competitive arenas. he's proving this point daily.
