If there’s a topic Colorado Rockies fans are eager to discuss now that we’re at the halfway point of the 2026 MLB season, it’s what moves president of baseball operations Paul DePodesta and general manager Josh Byrnes might make ahead of the August 3 trade deadline.

And certainly, the Rockies pitching staff has been part of their discussions with other teams.

Earlier this week, we asked whether you thought the Rockies should trade Tomoyuki Sugano (菅野 智之) at the 2026 trade deadline or bring him back in 2027, perhaps in hopes of luring another Japanese player or two.

The results are in, and honestly, they surprised me!

2/3 of respondents voted to keep Sugano, while the other 1/3 voted to trade him.

I guess this shouldn’t come as a complete surprise, given that Sugano has been the Rockies most consistent pitcher in 2026. But that could also make him a viable trade candidate, especially on an expiring contract.

Either way, do you agree with the results? Do you still agree with your answer? Let us know in the comments!
