Rockets' Kevin Durant responds to burner account allegations originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Houston Rockets star forward Kevin Durant made some headlines over All-Star weekend, but not necessarily for a good reason.
Durant was accused of using a burner account on Twitter (I still refuse to call it X) to bash some of his current teammates in Houston, including Alperen Sengun and Jabari Smith Jr.
The Rockets returned to practice on Wednesday, and unsurprisingly, Durant was asked about the accusations, but he opted not to touch the topic.
“I know you got to ask these questions, but I’m not here to get into Twitter nonsense. … My teammates know what it is, we’ve been locked in the whole season,” Durant said.
You can’t blame Durant for sidestepping the question, as it’s not something that he really needs to address publicly. If there is any friction in the locker room as a result of the, let’s call it a scandal for the lack of a better word, then Durant can address that internally with his teammates.
