Rockets' Alperen Sengun magic comes from his Harry Potter fandom originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Some of the things Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun pulls off in NBA games feel like magic.
Well, that makes more sense now that Sengun has shared with the world just how big of a Harry Potter fan he is.
A new article by The Athletic breaks down Sengun's appreciating for the famous wizarding franchise of books and movies.
And to sum up his fandom: He is building a Harry Potter room in his house.
“I have a lot of stuff. I have the sword, the mask, the cap," Sengun told The Athletic. "Whatever you think of, I have… all those he has in the movie, I have in my house.”

The Athletic article starts with maybe the most important detail for any Harry Potter fans digging into Sengun -- he says that he's a member of Gryffindor, which is also Harry's house and is generally known in the series as being noble.
Sengun was then asked by The Athletic's Nick Friedell what it is he loves about the series, his response was simple: "The magic."
It's fitting, really, coming from an earth-bound center who averages more than six assists per game as a bit of a lite version of Nikola Jokic.
Sengun also scores and rebounds with efficiency and effectiveness despite lacking the springiness of most of his NBA foes.
He simply finds ways to get the job done. Sengun might not be casting spells, but in the subtleties of his game, he certainly is a bit magical.
Will that be enough to save the Rockets in their postseason series against the Los Angeles Lakers? That's hard to say. Sengun, after all, is going up against a 'King,' LeBron James.
It might just take a wizard to come back from a 3-0 series deficit (which is now 3-1) against LeBron. Houston is going to have to hope it has one in Sengun.
