This week, Chiefs Wire's Ed Easton Jr. spoke with retired All-Pro running back Ricky Williams.

In his interview with Easton Jr., Williams discussed his partnership with Panini America after being hosted along with several other NFL players and legends at the Panini Prizm VIP lounge in San Francisco during Super Bowl LX week. He also shared thoughts on the Kansas City Chiefs' lack of a consistent running game last season.

"This is probably one of the most constant constants in my life, relative to football. I don't do a whole lot of stuff with football. Still, every year, especially at the Super Bowl", said Williams, "I'm always at this Panini community party, and our relationship goes way back to 2000, right after my rookie year."

Kansas City's running game in 2025 lacked the explosion it needed all season due to injuries, and big plays were rare from the position. Williams detailed the importance of offensive balance for success.

"In the NFL, you've got to keep the defense out of balance. Those guys are getting paid a lot of money, and stop you," said Williams. "If you become one-dimensional, you're much easier to stop." I think years in the past, when the Chiefs could get some big plays out of the running game, they made everything else work so much better."

Panini is the exclusive trading card partner of the NFL. You can get Panini NFL Trading Cards at Walmart, Target, hobby stores nationwide, and at www.PaniniAmerica.net.
