After the first two padded practices of the Tennessee Titans' training camp, it’s set up to be a quieter day on Wednesday by comparison, something that is happening across the league during the early portions of camp. The Titans have had some spirited competition through the first week, with the offense and defense exchanging blows, as they lay the foundation for their 2026 season.
The Titans are looking to bounce back after two dismal seasons, and excitement is building around them in camp, with young players on both sides of the ball flashing and many starting to take notice. This includes Rich Eisen, who lists the Titans as one of his five surprise teams in 2026.
"Number three," Eisen said. "They are bald, and they are beautiful, and they are the Tennessee Titans. What if Cam Ward gets this coaching from Daboll? Yeah. And Ridley. You know, Pollard. There's some home run hitters, folks. And the defense, Saleh is gonna coach them up. Big time. It's gonna be better. And again, the sailing? Already, it's smooth."
As new head coach Robert Saleh and his staff turn their attention toward the preseason opener in a little over a week, some areas of concern will likely be addressed in the coming days, specifically the Dan Moore injury and how it will impact the team moving forward and deal a potential blow to the hopes of the offense breaking out under Cam Ward and Brian Daboll.
Heading into training camp, the line was already a question mark at center and right guard, and losing Moore for an extended period would further complicate that. If the Titans want to surprise in 2026, they need the offense clicking on all cylinders, and they must have at least a serviceable offensive line.
As Eisen pointed out, the defense will be better, but the real hope for success lies with Ward and Daboll. The Titans made significant changes on that side of the ball; it’s whether or not they did enough that will eventually tell the tale of the 2026 season.
