Barcelona’s signing of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United has poured fresh doubt on Marcus Rashford’s future at Camp Nou.

The England international is coming to the end of his season-long loan from Manchester United, with Barcelona reportedly unwilling to pay his buy option.

The arrival of Gordon, and potentially Bernardo Silva as well, has also led to speculation there will be no room at Barcelona for Rashford next season.

Yet Rashford is not giving up on his Barcelona dream, according to Mundo Deportivo. The England international “wants to exhaust all options to remain a Barcelona player” and “is not affected by the signing of Gordon.”

MD say that Rashford is even willing to switch positions and play on the right flank, as back-up to Lamine Yamal next season, if Rooney Bardghji departs in search of game time.

Rashford and Gordon are about to link up shortly with England after being named in Thomas Tuchel’s squad for World Cup 2026.

The Three Lions will jet out to the USA on Monday and will start preparations in Miami before heading to their basecamp in Kansas City.
