As the race for LeBron James winds down, the Golden State Warriors are not hopeful given their current condition. According to Anthony Slater of ESPN, the Warriors "remain pessimistic" about their chances to land the 23-year NBA veteran.

With that in mind, it seems that three Eastern Conference teams are the frontrunners, those being the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and the Philadelphia 76ers. Assuming James does sign elsewhere, Golden State's front office will have plenty of work to do via the trade market.

Although the Warriors dealt with many injuries last season, their roster without James isn't realistically a contender in the Western Conference when healthy. Names like Michael Porter Jr. and Trey Murphy III have been linked to the Bay Area in the past, while DeMar DeRozan has been mentioned as a free agent option.
