What's the plan for the Houston Texans when on the clock at No. 25?
Well, they don't want to be on the clock at No. 25, so expect general manager Nick Caserio to be on the phone for hours on end late into Wedensday evening.
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Texans have been trying to move up into the top half of the draft for a chance to draft one of the premier offensive linemen. One name that has constantly been linked to Houston is Texas All-American left tackle Kelvin Banks, but North Dakota State guard Grey Zabel could be another name to watch after an impressive showing at the Senior Bowl.
Houston might not be willing to move into the top 15, but the No. 16 selection could be enticing should Banks see a draft day dip. The Arizona Cardinals could target another defensive lineman, but might feel more comfortable selecting a flashy project at No. 25 rather than No. 16.
Keep in mind that Cardinals GM Monti Ossenfort has a long-standing relationship with Caserio from their time in New England and was instrumental in helping Houston move up nine spots from No. 12 in 2023 to select Pro Bowl defensive end Will Anderson Jr. third overall.
Does this mean a deal will get done? Not at all. The asking price has to be fair and according to The Athletic's Dianna Russini, current pricing to move up even in the top 20 seems egregious when it comes to asking price.
The Texans, who own seven picks in this draft, might pivot toward targeting a talent less than Banks. That doesn't mean the new lineman added to the system won't impress when he arrives at NRG Stadium.

"Teams behind Houston are also hearing from GM Nick Caserio, so it's possible the Texans are just doing their due diligence across the board," Fowler wrote. "The Broncos (No. 20) are also looking to move up, as Adam Schefter noted."
