In what is unfortunately becoming an annual tradition, Roma’s summer transfer market has slowed to a crawl. With the club engaged in another protracted negotiation for another problematic English winger (though for markedly different reasons), Roma’s other transfer priorities have taken a back seat.
However, there may finally be good news to report:

With their incoming transfer business non-existent, Roma has decided to turn to one of their own. According to multiple sources in Italy, Paulo Dybala’s long-rumored contract extension has finally come to pass. While the club hasn’t officially announced the deal, Nicolo Schira reports that Dybala has signed a one-year deal worth €2.5 million plus bonuses with an option year that would keep him with the club until June 2028.
That’s a significant pay cut for the 32-year-old maestro, who surely could have earned substantially more elsewhere, which speaks to Dybala’s commitment to the club. After fighting tooth and nail to return the Giallorossi to the Champions League, it’s only fitting that Dybala gets to enjoy the fruits of his labor.
