After months of speculation, A.J. Brown is finally a New England Patriot.

The Philadelphia Eagles' three-time All-Pro wide receiver is reportedly being traded to the Patriots for a 2028 first-round draft pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. It's a move that started to feel inevitable as the negotiations reached a crescendo on Monday.

Brown wasn't happy in Philadelphia last season, and there were clear signs that the two sides were headed for a split, even if nobody was willing to say so publicly. In many ways, this is a full-circle moment for Brown, who now gets to play for his favorite childhood team, while also rejoining his first NFL head coach, Mike Vrabel.

And Drake Maye now has a new No. 1 receiving weapon.

Some might consider the 2025 season a down year for Brown, but he still mustered 78 receptions for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns, despite all of the offensive dysfunction in Philly. With the Patriots also signing Romeo Doubs in free agency, the team has officially hit a home run this offseason by creating one of the best wide receiver rooms in the NFL on paper.
