The extent of New York Giants edge rusher Abdul Carter’s injury from the team’s first mandatory minicamp practice was revealed on Wednesday.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Carter suffered a minor ankle sprain during Giants practice on Monday.
Head coach John Harbaugh does not view the injury as serious.
"Looks like he twisted his ankle to some degree. Doesn't look serious," he told reporters at the time.
Carter left the practice field limping after going down with the injury. The Penn State product did not return and sat out the team’s second mandatory minicamp practice on Tuesday.
The Giants held their third and final minicamp practice on Wednesday, with Carter active and participating in the team’s walkthroughs. New York will now have a weeks-long break until training camp begins at the end of July.
