Georgia defensive tackle Warren Brinson is "drawing a lot of interest" from the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to Tony Pauline.
"Warren Brinson continued to impress scouts and is watching his draft stock take off," wrote Pauline. "Brinson sat on most of his combine marks, and why not? At 315 pounds, he timed 5.09 seconds in the forty, with a quick ten-yard split of 1.76 seconds, and looked terrific in position drills."
Over the last three seasons, Brinson has 54 total pressures and five sacks during that span. By PFF's metrics, Brinson's greatest impact came against the run. Brinson ranked 74th out of all defensive tackles in run stop rate in 2024. He ranked 88th in that category in 2023, and was 34th in PFF's run defense grade that year as well.
Lance Zierlein of NFL.com would say in his pre-draft scouting report that, "Brinson is the best version of himself when he’s allowed to get up the field and make things happen."
The Jaguars, of course, have a big need along the defensive line. After not addressing that position in free agency, it is their top need heading into the NFL draft after ranking 32nd in ESPN's pass rush win rate last season and 27th in run stop rate.
This is a position, especially with 10 draft picks, where we are going to see GM James Gladstone likely double-dip and maybe even triple-dip, particularly given the talent and depth along the defensive front in this year's draft class.
