Former Arkansas guard Meleek Thomas, the 34th overall pick in the 2026 NBA draft, signed a contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday, the team announced.
Thomas was named to the SEC All-Freshman team, averaging 15.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals while shooting 41.6% from 3-point range in 37 games. He registered nine 20-point games, including a season-high 30 points and seven rebounds on March 7.
The 6-foot-3 Thomas reportedly agreed to a four-year pact with the Cavaliers worth $9.3 million, according to Jeff Goodman of The Field of 68. The contract is guaranteed for the first three years, with a team option in the last season.
Thomas shot a program record 48.7% from beyond the arc in 18 SEC games last season. He became a full-time starter midway through the year for coach John Calipari and the Razorbacks, emerging as one of the top scorers in the conference.
The 19-year-old was widely projected to be a first-round pick before falling to the Cavaliers early on the second night of the draft. He is eager to get to work with the group and begin learning from the likes of James Harden, Donovan Mitchell and the rest of the veterans on the roster.
Thomas is expected to suit up with the Cavaliers for at least five games in the NBA Summer League, beginning on July 10 against the Indiana Pacers in Las Vegas, Nevada (4:30 p.m. EDT, ESPN2).

Meleek Thomas, selected 34th by Cleveland, has signed a 4-year contract worth $9.3 million, source told @TheFieldOf68.
First 3 years and 6.4 million is guaranteed, per source - which is actually more guaranteed money than picks 26-30 in this year’s draft.
