Only one week remains until the 2026 NBA draft. That means expect a ramp-up in news and rumors surrounding this year's class. Especially with the league finally in the offseason. The Oklahoma City Thunder finished shy of going back-to-back, but have some serious draft capital to spend.

For the Thunder, they continue to enjoy the best of both worlds — contending for a Larry O'Brien trophy and doing their homework for a lottery addition. They will enter the 2026 NBA draft with three draft picks — No. 12 via the LA Clippers; No. 17 via the Philadelphia 76ers; and No. 37 via the Dallas Mavericks.

One prospect the Thunder will reportedly meet with in a predraft workout is Alabama's Houston Mallette, per NBA reporter Nick Crain. He played in five collegiate seasons from 2021-26. He spent his first three years at Pepperdine before transferring to the Crimson Tide for his last two years. He averaged 6.6 points on 37.2% shooting, 4.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 35 games this past season. He shot 35.5% from 3 on 4.7 attempts.

The 23-year-old is a 6-foot-5, 202-pound guard. Most NBA mock drafts have him going undrafted. That means the Thunder could probably add him on some sorta Summer League deal once the two-day event ends. After that, he could audition for a training camp and G League invite.

The 2026 NBA draft will take place from June 23-24. The Thunder will look to add more young talent to their roster to keep their contending window open as long as possible around Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams.

A full list of the Thunder's 2026 NBA draft workout tracker can be found here.

The Oklahoma City Thunder will work out former Alabama guard Houston Mallette on Wednesday, June 17, sources tell me and @CrainNBA.

Mallette is viewed as an intriguing pre-draft prospect whose shooting ability has generated interest from teams throughout the evaluation process.
