Seattle Seahawks wide receivers coach Frisman Jackson recently earned his first Super Bowl ring following his team’s 29-13 defeat of the New England Patriots.

Now, after 16 years as a wideouts coach at both the collegiate and NFL level, Jackson could be in line for a major promotion.

“The Raiders are interviewing Seahawks WRs coach Frisman Jackson for their offensive coordinator job, per source,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero posted on Bluesky.

The 46-year-old played 34 games across four seasons as a wide receiver with the Cleveland Browns from 2002 to 2005 before securing his first coaching job as Western Illinois University’s wideouts coach in 2008.

Jackson stayed with the Leathernecks for two seasons and also had stints with the University of Akron (2010 to 2011), Northern Illinois (2012), North Carolina State (2013 to 2014) and Temple University (2015 to 2016) as their wide receivers coaches before joining the NFL.

He was the Tennessee Titans wideouts coach for the 2017 campaign and jumped back to the college game in the same role with Baylor from 2018 to 2019.

Jackson was the Carolina Panthers’ wide receivers coach in 2020 and 2021 before holding the same title with the Pittsburgh Steelers for two seasons in 2022 and 2023. He worked with the likes of one-time Pro Bowler Diontae Johnson, as well as star pass-catcher George Pickens during his first two NFL campaigns.

Jackson’s worked with AP Offensive Player of the Year Jaxon Smith-Njigba the last two seasons in Seattle and guided former Pro Bowlers D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett during the Seahawks’ 2024 seasons.
