Just who are the New Orleans Saints going to pick in the 2025 NFL draft? With news of Derek Carr's uncertain future failing to clear up in the final days leading up to the draft, all eyes are on the Saints' vacancy at quarterback. And some around the league believe the team just might reach on a passer to get their new head coach his guy.

CBS Sports insider Aditi Kinkhabwala: "What I'm being told is that Jaxson Dart is not going to fall beyond that No. 9 pick and the Saints. Somebody could potentially go above the Saints to try to go get him, but that's not what I'm hearing right now. That is a pick that Kellen Moore really likes."

Dart was productive at Ole Miss last year, but the offense he ran didn't do much to prepare him for the pros. No other quarterback in this draft class ran a system that leaned so heavily on screens, play action, and run-pass options. Taking the snap (from under center, not out of the shotgun) and dropping back to pass isn't something he has much experience doing. That's a hard sell at the No. 9 pick.

Still, the Saints have been linked to Dart for months now, but as a second-round pick. Maybe they trade up from No. 40 to get him. But taking him at No. 9 would be a stretch -- unless he hits, in which case all this doubt is forgotten. We'll find out if Kinkhabwala's information is on point soon enough.
