Eugenio Suarez did all of his important work Monday night in the opening two innings. The Cincinnati Reds' third baseman opened his MLB record-setting performance with a two-run home run.

Connecting on a 3-2 pitch from New York Mets starting pitcher Tobias Myers (1-1), Suarez launched a 376-foot homer run to left-center field at Great American Ball Park.

Highlighting the Reds' six-run second inning, Suarez blasted a grand slam.

The rout was on as Suarez became the third MLB player this season to amass at least six RBI via home runs before the end of the second inning. It's the first time in history that three players accomplished the feat, joining teammate Sal Stewart and Houston Astros' Yordan Alvarez.

Suarez, who has struggled through much of the season, finished Monday by going 2-for-4. Along with JJ Bleday, who collected two hits, including a homer, and four RBI, the Reds earned a 12-0 victory.

Steward hit a pair of early three-run home runs April 15, lifting the Reds to an 8-3 win over the visiting San Francisco Giants. At 22 years old, Stewart became the second-youngest player to record six RBI in franchise history.

A triple-crown threat, Alvarez on Friday became the third player in Astros history to slam two homers in the same inning, a nine-run first inning, leading to a 10-8 victory at Kauffman Stadium.

Alvarez also became the 63rd player in MLB history to hit multiple homers in the same inning and the eighth to include a grand slam.
