Redding area high school sports: Top games of the week

With local high schools on spring break this week, many Redding-area teams will have the week off. In fact, baseball and softball will be the only sports in action until the weekend.

Enterprise, Shasta, Foothill, West Valley, Mt. Shasta, Central Valley, Red Bluff and Etna will compete in the Jim Morely Classic at Enterprise and Shasta high schools from April 7-8. Meanwhile, U-Prep is the only softball team with spring break action.

Boys volleyball, golf and tennis will all have the week off. See the top games of the week for April 6-12.

Baseball​

All games are part of the Jim Morely Baseball Classic

• West Valley (9-3) at Shasta (6-6) — 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 7
• Foothill (11-3) at Enterprise (7-5-1) — 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 7
• Red Bluff (6-9) at Shasta (6-6) — 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 7
• Central Valley (6-5-1) vs. Foothill (11-3) — 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 8 at Enterprise High School
• Red Bluff (6-9) vs. West Valley (9-3) — 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 8 at Shasta High School

Softball​

• University Prep (2-9) at Hillsdale (7-4) — 4 p.m., Friday, April 10 at Hillsdale High School in San Mateo, CA

Track and Field​

• Chico Invitational — 9:30 a.m., Saturday, April 11 at Chico High School
