Coors Field has long been considered an MLB pitcher's worst nightmare.

Boston Red Sox starter Jake Bennett shrugged off the Colorado Rockies home field's reputation on Monday night when he pitched six shutout innings and allowed just four hits with no walks and nine strikeouts. The 25-year-old rookie's nine punchouts set a Red Sox franchise record for most strikeouts in a single game at Coors Field, besting John Lackey's previous high mark of seven, set in 2010.

Bennett's record didn't last long though, as veteran right-hander Sonny Gray racked up 11 strikeouts across seven innings of one-run ball on Tuesday night, helping Boston defeat Colorado, 5-2.

As the Red Sox continue to grapple with potentially being sellers ahead of the Aug. 3 MLB trade deadline, Gray has found himself in plenty of rumors.

Following Tuesday's gem, the 36-year-old is now 9-1 with 2.95 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 66 strikeouts across 76 1/3 innings pitched covering 14 starts.

Gray's three career All-Star nods have come with three different teams and based on how his first three months of the 2026 campaign have gone, he could soon stretch that mark to four honors with four separate squads.
