Brayan Bello’s third outing following his demotion to Triple-A went much more smoothly than his second. He struck out six, allowing just one run on 85 pitches, and while he still had a bit of trouble finding the zone, landing just 54 of those for strikes, he walked just two and navigated a lot of traffic in his first four innings as cleanly as he could before eventually retiring the Mud Hens (Tigers AAA) in order to finish the outing. As a whole, the pitching staff held Toledo to 3-for-21 with runners in scoring position. The WooSox, though, could manage just five hits of their own, and did not score after a Tyler McDonough home run in the fifth and the Mud Hens’ multitude of singles caught up to Worcester in the late going.

Gage Ziehl has done it again, as he’s really turned the corner from his iffy beginning to 2026. Although he had just three strikeouts on the night, he pitched into the sixth, giving up just three baserunners. The Sea Dogs, on the other hand, had no issues taking Hartford (Rockies AA) to task on the base paths, totaling 14 hits and having five batters getting multiple knocks including all the usual suspects (Arias, Brannon, Garcia.) And still, Infielder Marvin Alcantara emerged as maybe the best batter in the lineup Tuesday, and he had three hits and swiped two bags. All together, this one was never in doubt.

JoJo Ingrassia had a tough start, going just three innings, and though the ship was navigated greatly the rest of the way by Joe Vogatsky and Matt McShane, the damage was already done. This did not stop the Drive from keeping up with Asheville (Astros High-A) from the very beginning, thanks to multi-hit games including early home runs from Justin Gonzales and Antonio Anderson. But, the game screeched to a halt with no scoring after the bottom of the fifth, and when the dust settled, Greenville had 16 strikeouts on the night and Asheville remained on top.

The farm suffered another one-run loss, and although the two teams combined for 17 hits, they claimed just a double a piece. Skylar King showed his speed off again with his 21st stolen base and had two knocks on the night. The Pelicans (Cubs A), though, showed up in a big way in the top of the ninth with an RBI double to score the runner from first and break the tie up.
Have a fantastic Friday!
