They don’t have contracts or collective bargaining. This is what it is.
At some point, the system will need to install a series of checks and balances like the aforementioned. multi-year contracts, buyouts, caps, fines and other regulations are needed

The old transfer rules were fine. Sit out a year and they can burn a redshirt if available. No problem with the finances if it.
That’s an antitrust violation. This isn’t 1990 anymore. Not since obannon lawsuit.

They kinda have a contract. it's an Athletic Financial Aid Agreement that locks the kid and the school into a deal for a year.
Here’s the key element. If you want to negotiate something for longer, do so. It will come at a premium.

The primary issue is there isn’t a union to negotiate with. So if the colleges try to implement a unilateral set of rules the kids can claim antitrust.
