Branch? Holt? Both?

Depending on how Burries looks going forward I’d expect him back…

I think Alabama is the leader in the clubhouse for Holt. Arizona is still trying

Branch just reclassified, so it’s too soon to tell. Tommy has been working this one as hard as anyone

Is Arizona recruiting Christian Collins? He just reopened his recruitment, really amazing situation. Christian Collins has Cystic Fibrosis which makes breathing difficult for him, especially during exercise. Apparently most of the schools recruiting him, including Kentucky where he was going to commit, didn't know despite it having been written about in the LA Times since he was in like 6th grade.

The family wants him to stay closer to home because of the medical situation they want him to be closer to the family doctor. Kid is an elite 5 star recruit likely McDonalds kid and he has Cystic Fibrosis.

Bama made a late run and made this recruitment interesting, but in the end, he was Arizona bound for months

Didnt realize this until now, but Holt is the second highest recruit to commit to Arizona in program history, only behind Deandre Ayton

One to watch. Heard UCLA is also in the mix. @Russ Smith

We are talking to him no idea if we'll get him. The interesting thing he apparently wants to play the 3 and UCLA can give him that because they expect to play Dailey at the 4. Just not sure he's athletic enough to play the 3 well, he's a good solid player, good defender, makes shots, good passer, but he's basically a face up 4 IMO.

If he didn't want to play the 3 UCLA's selling point would be we'll use you like we did Bilodeau, but he apparently doesn't want that so my guess is probably won't end up at UCLA

A west coast kid transferring out of Duke or Kentucky is a tale as old as time. The prices are getting crazy so it makes sense to enter just to hear what other programs can offer.

Players need to start realizing that heading east to Duke or Kentucky isn't the layup it once was - stay out West!

That seems to be a big part of UCLA's strategy now. Try and get the big name kids but a real focus is on kids from So Cal who went somewhere else and now want to transfer back home. how they got Dent, Clark so Khamenia fits that MO. One of the arguments on him to UCLA is he played with Trent Perry in HS, but that didn't get him to pass up Duke out of HS so not sure how much it helps UCLA now.

Interesting you guys are after Shelstad, he's a good player but he's basically a 6 foot shooting guard, he's never had 10 assists in a game in 3 years, on a team that runs, but maybe Tommy wants to add a better shooter maybe he thinks not making enough 3's hurt them this year who knows. I guess he would fit well with perry, we're being told Skyy Clark isn't coming back even if he gets the extra year he will try and max out his NIL and UCLA doesn't want to wait to hear if he gets approved. I really want Blackwell but I think he's got way too many schools after him and no obvious tie to UCLA

there is absolutely no reason that an elite player from California or Arizona should go east.

Sounds like Shelstad cancelled his Arizona visit and is going to Louisville, rumors are 4 million dollars which is insane but I guess market rate now.

I would assume Arizona pivots to someone like Isiah Johnson but he might get a similar amount

I do think NIL needs to be more transparent, that is the base deals should be public, with so many schools having collectives to pay players I think they should have to disclose how much they paid them. When you see all this stuff online about how Michigan only paid out 10 million for their whole roster and you know even Michigan fans admit Yaxel got at least 4 million alone and probably more (Kentucky reportedly offered him 6 or 7) it's just not believable the whole roster was only 10. Yaxel and Mara alone probably got 6 or 7.

Shelstad is good but not worth 3+ mil. If that’s his market I’m guessing Zoom and Isaiah will get something similar. Arizona isn’t cheap but won’t get into these bidding wars with agents. I would guess Tommy has a guard overseas he can grab if nothing presents itself.

He and Bidunga both picked Louisville they apparently got a huge bump in their NIL's.

Some of the talk is with the coming rule 5 years to after turning 19 to play out eligibility and Trump talking about NIL limits, schools are sort of panicking and overpaying this cycle.

Seems like the opposite should have happened schools should have been more frugal because now they're going to have a ton of kids next cycle pissed off when the amount is lower?

Paying two guys that much isn’t a recipe for success. You’ll just be Arkansas or Texas Tech with two studs and nothing else. Kentucky is throwing massive amounts of $ at Rob Wright who will be on his third team in 3 years. I don’t mind the money aspect but there has to be a limit on transferring every year. Head coaches don’t switch jobs nearly that often which was always the argument.

They don’t have contracts or collective bargaining. This is what it is.
