Recast the Godfather

Which actors from today's generation would you use to recast the Godfather? Here are my choices for the main characters. For argument's sake, no actors from the orginal movie can be used

Michael Corleone - Jim Caviezel (I am banking on his performance in 'The Passion of the Christ' to make people think he can pull this off)

Kay (Michael's eventual wife) - Gwyneth Paltrow

Tom Hagen - Ralph Fiennes or Guy Pearce

Sonny Corleone - Edward Norton (based soley on his performance in 25th hour)

Fredo Corleone - Steve Buscemi

Vito Corleone - can't think of anyone!!!

The Godfather is a movie that doesn't need to be recast. Why not try to recast some piece of crap movie like Spider-Man instead?

Oh, and I just heard that Sheriyln Fenn is in a Mr Ed remake?

Why oh WHY cant Hollywood PLEASE make something that isnt a re-tread????
