I am a little groggy trying to keep up with late Wild games and the NFL marathon draft so bear with me on some of my logic.
It is time to face it. The Cards are not committed to winning. They are committed to fielding a team they can AFFORD so get over it. This last draft was only 5 players old when they showed their true colors. Some of us have accused them of being cheap. Now is the time to vote on that. They must have figured that they couldnt sign Suggs and no one else affordable was on the board. The Saints did what is known as slipping them the weenie. The Saints got their player and the Cards got "players. "Quality" players? Naaah.
BTW when the the Saints picked Sullivan there was a call to paramedics to restore Mike Tices breathing. The story about a deal with Balitmore is just that ---a story. Major panic in the purple war room. Tice was booed severely when he came on the big screen to explain what happened.
Before the draft the Cards were a mediocre team. They drafted mediocre players so they didnt improve. Fans should adjust expectations accordingly. There will be no playoffs this season.
