Real Madrid star to be absent until September with injury
La Liga giants Real Madrid have this weekend been dealt a setback on the personnel front. This comes amid confirmation that youngster Thiago Pitarch is set for an incoming spell on the sidelines.
Midfielder Pitarch is of course fresh off something of a breakout campaign in 2025/26, culminating in a surprising 11 starts between La Liga and the Champions League.
Still just 18 years of age, the starlet was in turn hopeful of making use of pre-season in Spain’s capital to continue his upward trajectory, through making a positive impression on new manager José Mourinho.
As alluded to above, however, just weeks into preparations for the year ahead, Pitarch has suffered a blow.
As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano, citing Real Madrid insider Arancha Rodríguez:
‘Thiago Pitarch has suffered a knee injury in a Real Madrid training session. He’s expected to be out until the beginning of September.’
