Baltimore Ravens head coach Jesse Minter doesn't buy into anything that is said about Lamar Jackson.
During a recent appearance on the Up & Adams Show with Kay Adams, Minter admitted that the criticism Jackson continues to receive drives him insane.
“It drives me insane some of the stuff that people say about this guy. He’s unbelievable," Minter said.
"There’s nobody we'd rather have as a quarterback of the Baltimore Ravens."
Minter, the first-year head coach, talked glowingly about Jackson. While Minter is coming into his first season as head coach in the NFL, he’s quite familiar with the Ravens organization and Jackson.

The 43-year-old was with the Ravens organization for four seasons from 2017 to 2020. Minter served as a defensive assistant in 2017 and 2018, an assistant defensive backs coach in 2019, and the defensive backs coach in 2020.
Minter was with Jackson for the first three seasons of his career and knows what he brings to the table. The first-year head coach added that Jackson is the ultimate leader.
“I don't really buy into anything that's said about Lamar,” Minter said.
"I'm not like I'm not listening to, 'oh this happened' or whatever. He’s just developing as a real leader. He's taken ownership of the team.”
Jackson, the two-time NFL MVP is still playing at a high level, despite a down year in 2025.
Jackson will look to bounce back under Minter and new offensive coordinator Declan Doyle. The 29-year-old will have the fourth offensive coordinator of his career as he gets set to enter his ninth season.

The two previous offensive coordinators in their first years at the helm spelled good news for Jackson and the Ravens. In 2019, Greg Roman’s first season, it led to Jackson’s first MVP and helped Baltimore post a stellar 14-2 record.
In Todd Monken’s first season in 2023, that led to Jackson’s second MVP of his career. That season, Jackson guided the Ravens to high marks, ranking fourth in points per game (28.4), first in rush yards per game (156.5) and sixth in yards per game (370.4).
No matter who is calling the plays, Jackson has consistently proven himself to be a winner. The Ravens quarterback has won more than 70 percent of the games he has started, a mark that comes as no surprise to anyone who watches him week after week.
Considering the Ravens have not made the Super Bowl yet with Jackson under center, owner Steve Bisciotti made a huge change, moving on from longtime coach John Harbaugh.
With Minter now firmly in place, he will have the tall task of leading the organization to the big show, while also finding a way to help Jackson elevate his game.
