With the majority of Baltimore's roster present for the start of the team's voluntary offseason program, Ravens Director of Strength & Conditioning Scott Elliott was asked how the coaching staff stays connected with players who choose not to attend during this period.
Elliott said the process involves direct communication with players or their personal trainers to ensure they can meet or progress toward the team's conditioning benchmarks before they return.
Elliott said those conversations continue throughout the offseason as players work through their individual training plans before returning to the facility.

“Again, to your point, the vast majority [of the team] is here, and the ones who aren't, are for varying reasons, which is great. It's a voluntary period. Our communication – we're very fortunate to have the resources where we've got position group coaches in the strength and conditioning room. So, I've got dialogue with a player, and in some cases – most cases – it will be with their personal trainer or strength coach on the outside. And we'll talk about whether it's yards at speed or volume intensity of the runs or lifts. What we're trying to get, I'll share that with them so that they can work to either match it or progress to it so when they come back, they're ready.”
