The Rangers remain in the mix for Anaheim's Mason McTavish, according to Chris Johnston of The Athletic.
St. Louis also has a strong offer on the table for the Ducks to consider.
Johnston notes, however, that with the opening round of the NHL Draft rapidly approaching, the odds of a deal being completed on Friday night appear to be declining.
Reports throughout the day have indicated that New York's offer package includes a roster player, while one of the key parts of the Blues' offer is the 11th overall pick.
McTavish certainly would be an intriguing addition for the Blueshirts.
The 23-year-old is a potential change-of-scenery candidate coming off a season in which he seemingly fell out of favor with new Ducks head coach Joel Quenneville.
He was scratched at times during the playoffs and saw his ice time cut down by over a minute.
McTavish still has plenty of upside, though, as was on display during his 22-goal and 52-point campaign the year before.
The former No. 3 overall pick also comes with five more years of control with a $7 million cap hit.
