Rangers are preparing to formalise their interest in Brighton & Hove Albion winger Amario Cozier-Duberry. Derek McInnes and Fabian Hurzeler are at Ibrox and the AMEX Stadium respectively. The Scottish Premiership giants aim to win a fiercely contested race for one of British football’s brightest young wide talents.
The Ibrox club have been closely tracking the 21-year-old, who can ‘create something out of nothing’, after his impressive rise since leaving Arsenal’s Hale End academy. However, Rangers are not alone in their pursuit. Belgian giants RSC Anderlecht recently tested Brighton’s resolve with a concrete £5 million bid, only for the Seagulls to firmly reject the opening offer.
That rejection has sparked an expansive multi-club transfer battle. Alongside Rangers, a host of European clubs are lining up for the explosive winger, with West Ham United, Hull City, Paris FC, and Red Bull Salzburg all monitoring his situation. The widespread interest underscores Cozier-Duberry’s high potential.
For Brighton, the priority remains protecting their investment. The Amex hierarchy are keen to persuade the former England youth international to commit his long-term future by signing an improved contract. Having signed him on a free transfer from Arsenal, Brighton view Cozier-Duberry as a core part of their long-term plans. However, his lack of guaranteed Premier League minutes has left the door open for rival clubs to offer tempting first-team opportunities.
Rangers see Cozier-Duberry as an ideal fit for their style of play. With European football on offer and the prospect of high-stakes domestic competition, the Ibrox club believe they can provide a compelling environment for the winger to take the next step in his development after an impressive 2025/26 loan campaign with Bolton Wanderers, where he racked up nine goals and 10 assists across all competitions.
With Anderlecht’s rejected bid setting a baseline valuation above £5 million, Rangers are expected to submit a formal offer in the coming days to test Brighton’s resolve.
