The Los Angeles Rams suffered yet another gut-wrenching loss on Thursday night, blowing a 16-point fourth-quarter lead to the Seattle Seahawks in the biggest game of the year. They did plenty enough to win but their defense failed to step up late and the special teams unit made too many mistakes.
Pro Football Focus' grades illustrate how the Rams were top-heavy with their best performers on offense, and also show lapses on defense from a handful of players (min. 10 snaps).
It was another masterclass from Nacua, who caught 12 passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns, including the go-ahead score in overtime.
Stafford was sharp all night outside of a miss deep down the right side to Puka Nacua that would've gone for a touchdown in the first half. He had five big-time throws and one turnover-worthy play.
Whittington caught just one pass for 19 yards and had a 56.4 run-blocking grade.
Dotson was playing well before injuring his ankle, allowing only one pressure and recording a 69.6 run-blocking grade.
Smith hauled in both of his targets for 57 yards, including a 48-yard bomb deep down the field after he got behind the defense.
Ford continues to be outstanding when fully healthy for the Rams. He had a team-best 75.2 run defense grade and had four pressures, earning the second-best pass-rush grade on the team (76.0).
Verse led the team with seven pressures and had a half-sack in the loss, also missing one tackle.
Turner was much better than his grade suggests, recording five pressures, 1.5 sacks and an interception.
Wallace didn't play his usual snap share but he was good in this one, allowing just two catches for 37 yards with one interception.
Speights had one pressure and led the team with seven tackles.
Jackson gave up five pressures but no sacks and had a run-blocking grade of only 58.4.
Shelton allowed two pressures and was just average in the run game (59.5).
Dedich was called for a costly penalty that nullified Terrance Ferguson's touchdown, but it was a questionable call. He allowed three pressures in pass protection after replacing Dotson.
Parkinson and Allen both had rough games. Parkinson dropped two of his four targets and Allen had one drop on five targets.
Forbes didn't allow any receptions but he missed one tackle and was given a coverage grade of 48.8.
Landman had some uncharacteristic struggles, missing three tackles and giving up six catches for 41 yards on six targets.
Hamilton lost containment on Kenneth Walker's 55-yard touchdown run, which weighed down his run defense grade to 45.0.
Kinchens and Fiske had the two lowest run defense grades on the team at 30.4 and 28.5, respectively. Kinchens allowed three catches for 64 yards, too.
Ferguson scored his second touchdown of the season and also caught a 27-yard deep shot in the fourth quarter on a wheel route.
Williams and Corum weren't terribly efficient but they were effective. Williams forced three missed tackles to none for Corum.
Young only had two pressures and missed one tackle in the loss.
