The Los Angeles Rams won their second straight preseason game on Saturday night when they stunned the Los Angeles Chargers, 23-22. Stetson Bennett led the Rams on a game-winning drive in the final minute, which he capped off with a touchdown pass with 5 seconds left on the clock.

Despite not playing any starters like the Chargers did, the Rams still pulled off the upset in dramatic fashion. Several players made strong cases for the 53-man roster on Saturday, using this game as an opportunity to prove their worth to the coaching staff.

Pro Football Focus graded every player on the Rams and we highlighted the best (and worst) performers on each side of the ball.

Rams PFF grades: Top 5 offense

  • OL KT Leveston: 89.8
  • OL Justin Dedich: 85.5
  • WR Xavier Smith: 76.3
  • WR Mario Williams: 73.9
  • WR Brennan Presley: 72.9

Leveston allowed one pressure, which was a QB hit, but he was excellent in the run game. He had a team-high 93.6 run-blocking grade.

Dedich allowed zero pressures and also had an 81.1 run-blocking grade.

A trio of receivers was also among the Rams' top players, which should be no surprise based on the big plays each guy made.

Rams PFF grades: Top 5 defense

  • OLB Keir Thomas: 90.2
  • DT Desjuan Johnson: 85.1
  • DT Jack Heflin: 78.0
  • LB Elias Neal: 77.4
  • CB A.J. Green III: 75.4

Thomas had one pressure in the win and also had a tackle, continuing to play well this preseason in limited action.

Johnson had a total of five pressures, two more than any other Rams player. It was a great performance by the former seventh-rounder.

Heflin stood out against the run with a 76.8 run-defense grade, as did Neal with his team-high 79.4 grade in that department.

Green's coverage was outstanding, allowing just one catch on five targets with two pass breakups.

Rams PFF grades: Bottom 5 offense

  • TE Mark Redman: 59.4
  • TE Davis Allen: 52.6
  • OL Beaux Limmer: 50.7
  • WR Britain Covey: 48.5
  • OL Willie Lampkin: 43.4

Two tight ends, Redman and Allen, were among the lowest-graded Rams players, struggling as run blockers. Redman did have a few nice catches, though.

Limmer was great in pass protection but his run-blocking grade was only 52.4.

Covey had a minimal impact and Lampkin came back down to earth after a great debut last week.

Rams PFF grades: Bottom 5 defense

  • LB Tony Fields II: 51.8
  • CB Shaun Jolly: 50.9
  • CB Derion Kendrick: 48.2
  • OLB Josh Pearcy: 45.9
  • CB Cam Lampkin: 45.3

Fields missed two tackles, which weighed down his grade. Kendrick and Lampkin each missed one, as well. In coverage, Jolly allowed 55 yards on three receptions (three targets), and Lampkin gave up a team-high 60 yards on three catches (six targets).

Pearcy made one nice play at the end of the game but otherwise didn't have a huge impact in just 16 snaps.

Rams PFF grades: Other notables

  • WR Konata Mumpfield: 72.1
  • RB Jarquez Hunter: 69.4
  • QB Stetson Bennett: 64.6
  • LB Shaun Dolac: 64.3
  • OLB Brennan Jackson: 59.3
  • LB Chris Paul Jr.: 56.7

Mumpfield played well in his second preseason game, catching a touchdown pass after a great route. Hunter ran incredibly hard and rarely went down on first contact, showing his speed and physicality throughout the game.

Bennett's grade was surprisingly low considering the big plays he made all night, including the game-winner and a 38-yard dot to Mario Williams.

Dolac and Paul looked good again on Saturday, and Jackson had two sacks after being quiet last week.
