The Los Angeles Rams’ bold roster moves and draft picks have the team poised for another Super Bowl run.
Mike Jones of The Athletic broke down the offseason’s winners and losers, and the Rams’ splashy moves put them in position for both another championship run this season and for years ahead.
Bringing in football’s premier pass rusher is no easy feat, but that’s exactly what the Rams did.
Garrett is a perennial All-Pro, and though it cost them the young defender Jared Verse, it added to an already much improved defense.

“That acquisition, coupled with the additions of Chiefs cornerbacks Trent McDuffie in another trade and Jaylen Watson in free agency, could put defensive coordinator Chris Shula’s unit over the top,” Jones wrote. “With a defense like that, Sean McVay’s potent offense could further torment opponents, and the Rams could win another Super Bowl in their stadium this winter.”
Yes, that’s right: The Rams could again play for a Lombardi Trophy in their home of SoFi Stadium, just as they did when they beat the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 in 2022.
While that move was a blockbuster, it was a more scrutinized decision that may ultimately prove brilliant for general manager Les Snead, Jones wrote.
While Snead “raised eyebrows by drafting quarterback Ty Simpson in the first round,” picking a likely successor for the 38-year-old Matthew Stafford could prove the Rams’ masterstroke, Jones explained.

Simpson will now have “adequate time to develop before taking the field,” creating the opportunity for “a smoother transition down the line,” Jones said.
“The Rams have fortified themselves for both the short and long term,” he explained.
Of course, all of this depends on how this season shakes out. A narrow loss to division rival and eventual Super Bowl champion Seattle was painful for Rams fans, and with this level of activity, it’s championship or bust for the Rams this season.
That said, if the Rams can bring home another Super Bowl at home and remain competitive past the Stafford era, we’ll all look back at this offseason as a huge reason why.
