Though the Rams already have Alaric Jackson and Warren McClendon Jr. at offensive tackle, it would be sensible for them to take another lineman early in the draft – specifically a tackle.
Georgia’s Monroe Freeling is one of the top prospects at his position and he’s someone the Rams could select at No. 13 overall. NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported Wednesday that the Rams are among the teams that have spent “extended time” with Freeling during the pre-draft process, whether it be with visits, meetings or workouts.
The Rams don’t traditionally do top-30 visits, but they do travel to meet with prospects and work them out, so it’s possible they did that with Freeling.
Freeling is a 6-foot-7 tackle who played left tackle in college but could flip to the right side in the NFL. He has the length teams covet at tackle, which gives him a high ceiling at the position for whichever team drafts him.
It wouldn't be a surprise to see him go in the first 15 picks, potentially even in the top 10. As much as the Rams want another playmaker, adding a player like Freeling would help solidify the offensive line with a quality swing tackle, while also providing insurance for McClendon on the right side.

A lot of buzz lately for Georgia OT Monroe Freeling as a riser into the top 15. To that end, the #Browns (6), #Chiefs (9), #Dolphins (11) and #Rams (13) are among the teams who have spent extended time with him through the Draft process via visits, workouts and other meetings. pic.twitter.com/pm3FdF8DEm
