For the first time since retiring three years ago, Aaron Donald might seriously be considering a comeback.

On Tuesday, Pat McAfee said Donald texted him "it for sure got me thinking" after the Los Angeles Rams traded for Myles Garrett a day earlier. That small sliver of hope was all Rams GM Les Snead needed to believe it could happen.

During his appearance Wednesday on The Pat McAfee Show, Snead asked the show's host to keep the pressure on Donald. "Continue texting Aaron Donald," Snead told McAfee. "I know you said you don't text with him often, but this is probably the time to build that daily text chain with him."

"Continue texting @AaronDonald97

Now is the time to be texting him every day..

I think this is the first time he's actually thought about coming back since he retired" ~ Les Snead#PMSLivehttps://t.co/LTQQlPXLQypic.twitter.com/7A1GJO28ZG

Snead said he's not in regular contact with Donald himself, but head coach Sean McVay is and "I do think for the first time Aaron is like, ooo, wait a minute." That falls in line with what Donald's former teammate Michael Brockers said of a potential comeback, though Donald's wife tried her best to pour cold water on the situation.

How old is Aaron Donald?

Aaron Donald is still only 35 years old, having last played in the 2023 NFL season. He finished with eight sacks and was named a first-team All-Pro.
