Tight end Terrance Ferguson is coming off a strong rookie season with the Los Angeles Rams. Now, he has shared a piece of advice to incoming NFL Draft prospects ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft in April.
The Rams drafted Ferguson from Oregon in the second round with the No. 46 overall pick in 2025. He said comparison with other players can be difficult to avoid because of social media. However, he advises the incoming rookies to focus on their own progress.

The Rams have a lot of depth at the tight end position and were one of the highest users of a 13 personnel offense this season. This means there were three tight ends on the field at once.
As Ferguson prepares for his second season in the NFL, the Rams are hopeful he will be a strong asset to the 13 personnel tactic going forward. Rams coach Sean McVay said he believes Ferguson has a bright future ahead of him.
“I think he’s a total stud,” McVay said to reporters earlier this month. “I think the future is incredibly bright…I think the best is yet to come. He’s got an incredibly high ceiling, particularly as a receiver where he can be able to make plays short, intermediate and down the field.”
Ferguson is going into his second year of his four-year, $9.71 million rookie contract with the Rams.
As of now, the Rams have two first-round draft picks for the 2026 NFL Draft. Los Angeles holds the No. 13 pick and the No. 29 overall pick for the upcoming draft.
In addition to two first-round picks, the Rams have the No. 61 pick, No. 93 pick, No. 167 pick, No. 206 pick, No. 209 pick, No. 233 pick, No. 251 pick and the No. 256 overall pick.

“A lot of people look around and have those chips on your shoulders of who was drafted higher than you,” Ferguson said, per ESPN’s Sarah Barshop. “Keep those in mind, but not to watch them and worry about what other people are doing, whether that’s in your room, another team, a Team X teammate or whatever. But focus on what your work is and how you can get better and being the best version of yourself.”

“I think comparison is the thief of joy, and so just being able to do that day in, day out,” Ferguson added. It’s definitely hard, especially with social media and everything that happens nowadays and being competitive.”
