Alaric Jackson, the starting left tackle of the Los Angeles Rams, was arrested on Monday night on a felony domestic violence charge, according to the Los Angeles Police Department and confirmed to ESPN.

A woman was left with scratch marks on her arm after Jackson allegedly tried to take a phone out of her hand, as reported by NBC4:

The news of the arrest was first reported Tuesday by NBC4, which reported that “Jackson thought the woman was recording him with her phone and allegedly tried to take the phone out of her hand.” According to NBC4, “investigators said the woman had scratch marks on her arms.”

Jackson was booked Tuesday at 4:24 a.m. local time and released on $50,000 bond at 7:20 a.m., according to jail records.

It was less than a year ago that it was reported that Jackson is being sued by a woman for him allegedly recording her with his phone during an intimate encounter. Jackson was suspended for two games.

The official charge in this case is “a person who willfully inflicts corporal injury”, according to police.

The Rams most likely must move forward at this point under the impression that Jackson will not be available at the start of the season, to say the least. L.A.s backup tackles are listed as David Quessenberry, A.J. Arcuri, and rookie Keagen Trost.
