Raiders to have joint practice with Texans prior to preseason matchup

The Houston Texans will be one of the teams that the Las Vegas Raiders will face in the preseason this year. Prior to their preseason week two matchup in Houston, the Raiders new-look roster will get the chance to participate in practice against one of the best teams in the league from last season.

As first reported by Jonathan M Alexander of the Houston Chronicle, the Texans will host the Raiders for a joint practice prior to their preseason game on Aug. 20.

In addition to joint practice with the Panthers on Aug. 26, the #Texans are hosting a joint practice with the Las Vegas Raiders ahead of the preseason game on Aug. 20, per a source. @mike_e_kaye was on the Panthers' joint practice 1st.

The Raiders open the preseason at home against the Cardinals before heading for Houston for week two and then returning to Las Vegas for the final preseason game against the 49ers.

Unlike the 49ers, the Raiders will not play the Texans in the regular season.

The Raiders were narrowly defeated by the Texans by a score of 23-21 in Week 16 of last season. Las Vegas’ loss to Houston was their second-narrowest margin of defeat in 2025, despite playing against a stingy Texans defense that allowed the second-fewest points scored by opponents last season with 295.
