Las Vegas Raiders quarterbacks coach Mike Sullivan had nothing but raves for veteran QB Kirk Cousins on Tuesday. Sullivan has had time to assess the type of quarterback and veteran leader that Cousins is throughout the team’s offseason program thus far, and has seen things in him that are beneficial for the franchise on many fronts.

Sullivan lauded Cousins at a press conference on Tuesday for the way that his leadership and experience have already had a profound impact on the team this offseason.

Cousins has 14 years of experience in the NFL under his belt. He’s been able to lead several teams in multiple capacities, as both a prolific passer and a valued bridge quarterback.

The Raiders signed Cousins with the hope of him being a tone-setter for the team while rookie top pick Fernando Mendoza develops. His qualities as a teammate and mentor are valued by the franchise. This goes especially if he is also able to play at a high level this season.
