The Las Vegas Raiders will play all of their starters on offense in the team’s preseason opener against the Arizona Cardinals. Raiders coach Klint Kubiak stated before the media on Tuesday that the coaching staff has a clear plan regarding how much the starters will play, as well as how much time rookie quarterback Fernando Mendoza will see behind the starting offensive line.

“Our starters are going to play,” Kubiak said. “So he [Mendoza] could get some reps with a few of those guys. But I just don’t want to talk about how we’re going to play those guys.”

The Raiders will start left tackle Kolton Miller, left guard Spencer Burford, center Tyler Linderbaum, right guard Jackson Powers-Johnson and right tackle DJ Glaze on their offensive line. Mendoza will play behind starting quarterback Kirk Cousins with Ashton Jeanty set to start at running back.

Though Mendoza will be the backup against Arizona, the Raiders’ No. 1 overall pick is in line to play alongside starting wide receivers Tre Tucker, Jalen Nailor and Jack Bech. Mendoza has had a productive training camp this summer and will get his fair share of playing time in his first taste of NFL action on Thursday.
