Maxx Crosby has a new job. Above and beyond his duties as the Raiders top defensive player, the star edge rusher will now serve as the assistant GM for football for his alma mater Eastern Michigan.
According to the university football program, Crosby's duties will include scouting the next generation of recruits to the football team and boosting the NIL and recruiting game.
Along with his new title, the position he once played there will be named after him and wear his number. The LEO position will be renamed the MAXX position and the best edge rusher each year will sport Crosby's college number 92.
Just this week Crosby was posting on social media recruiting edge rushers to "follow in [his] footsteps" and come to Eastern Michigan.
The question here is just how much of an active role will Crosby have in his duties during the NFL season and training camp?
The Raiders made him the highest paid non-QB in NFL history this past offseason and you can bet they'd prefer his focus not be split. This is somewhat unprecedented considering Crosby is the first ever active NFL player to hold such a position.
