As the Raiders prepare for the start of OTA's, they went about thinning out a crowded wide receiver room, while adding some much-needed competition to the linebacker room.

Monday, the Raiders signed LB Cameron McGrone. And in a corresponding move, they cut WR Brenden Rice.

McGrone was originally drafted by the New England Patriots in the fifth round (177th overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft. He never played for the Patriots, seeing his first NFL action with the Colts the following season. The 6-3, 236-pounder stuck in Indianapolis for four seasons, appearing in 26 career games almost exclusively on special teams.

He was waived early last season and signed with the Browns where he appeared in one game.

The Michigan alum shares schools and positions with Raiders GM John Spytek, which is probably why he was on his radar.

Brenden Rice had signed to the Raiders' practice squad late last season. He is the son of NFL Hall of Famer Jerry Rice.
