I hope, hope, hope we don't give up a #1. Next year's CAP is going to be bad enough w/o taking on a potential big contract. I think Q is good but he's not Aaron Donald.
I’ve been able to confirm Williams is available.
I’ve been able to confirm Williams is available. However a team that currently figures to draft ahead of the Cards already offered a second but the offer was not accepted. Things might change as the deadline nears, but not enough for the Cards to get him with a second.

You do it before Seattle! This has Seattle written all over it. Even if the Cards are not 100%. I think the value of getting him and Seattle not is worth it

Seahawks are terrible at drafting in the 1st round anyway so it would be smart for them. You do it before Seattle! This has Seattle written all over it. Even if the Cards are not 100%. I think the value of getting him and Seattle not is worth it

Does he fit their defense though?
Harry: why would a team with little salary cap concerns give up on a player with three years of control remaining at a reasonable cost and who plays at a premium position?
if you are the GM, do you really care what the coaching staff is telling you about the on field play? the Jets are getting a new HC and staff next year anyway.
i get the Jets are dysfunctional, but they arent stupid.
this just screams to me that there is something beyond the on field play that is going on
Would you have traded Hopkins? Teams do crazy things all the time. The Jets made the moves that left them where they are and dumped unceremoniously a better coach than they have. As I posted before, teams are worried about the coming lowered cap. Williams is a bargain, but I think they’re angling for 2 high draft choices, perhaps even in the 2022 draft. You can only trade people other people want. He’s in demand. Would I trade him? No! There’s a thread on this board about trading Peterson. Only the cap would motivate that move considering the Cards are in a playoff run. 2020 is just different. Traditional rules don’t always apply.
Would you have traded Hopkins?
Throw in Andy Isabella. LOL.Maybe we can sweeten that deal with a future pick in the following draft. I'm not sure what it would take, maybe a 4th?

I think you are on to something. A second and Isabella would be like offering two second round picks.
They really have to "TRY" and tank?In a Heart Beat. It’s going to be a fire sale they are going to openly tank for Trevor Lawrence and then I’m going to laugh when Lawrence comes and says he won’t play for them.
you put him at end for us and it makes us so much better.
