Quiet Drafts I Liked

These weren’t A level drafts, but they will significantly improve these teams.

Cleveland: they didn’t have a pick until round 3 but came away with several winners. Tillman, Ika, Jones and Wypler all could contribute significantly in year one.

Detroit: they had the advantage of 2 first round choices and used them well. Gibbs and Campbell could well play immediately. Branch is a big time player who will also will instantly contribute. Don’t forget they got Hooker who could well develop into a starting QB.

Indy: got a ton of developable players. Most may not help immediately, but the percentages are in their favor.

New Orleans: didn’t have many picks, but they did a great job with what they had. Don’t be shocked if 3 years from now Haener is the next Drew Brees. Bresee is an underrated impact player. Foskey and Perry figure to contribute.

NYG: hit the mark with their first 3 picks. They should help this franchise retain momentum.

Tennessee: is another team that did well with their first 3 picks after failing to talk the Cards out of the third pick.

I think Detroit, Tennessee, & Cleveland all had terrible drafts. Especially Tennessee.

Detroit drafted two players they probably get later if they trade down. Gibbs may have gone round one, but in the top twenty?!? I doubt that heavily. Campbell was a laughably bad pick. Worse than taking Collins. Good player, but trade out of round one and get him at the top of round two.

Cardinals swindled the Titans in round two. Third worst trade of the night. I'm iffy on Levis. I see the traits, but supposedly teams thought he was a giant dick during visits. Crazy enough, the Cardinals had the three biggest trade wins in the draft. The Lions were also fleeced in round three by trade points.

I think Detroit, Tennessee, & Cleveland all had terrible drafts. Especially Tennessee.

Many criticized Detroit for taking a QB in the first round.

I’d be livid as a Lions’ fan. If they were going to massively reach on two 1st rounders then they might as well traded up for a QB.

Foskeys issue is that he has absolutely no bend. None. He's a straight power rusher and he's not particularly that powerful for the NFL. He's likely never going to be very good.

Cleveland with Jones and Wypler will be disappointed.
Jones is big. That’s it. Speed rushers in the NFL will destroy him. Plus he’s up to over 400 LBs.

Wypler has nothing he does above average. He’s sound and reliable. That’s it. There’s no distinguishing characteristics to his game.

I'd heard a lot of teams had 13 players with 1st round grades and that included Gibbs. It's not that surprising that Detroit picked him up, he was probably the highest player left on their board. Jack Campbell was a 2nd round player taken in the first, but then again more than half of the players taken in the 1st would have been second round players in any other draft. Campbell will be a stud.
