GREEN BAY – Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love took part in individual drills during the session of practice open to the media Dec. 24.

It’s another sign that Love is progressing through the NFL’s concussion protocol and may have a chance to play against the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday night, Dec. 27.

Backup quarterback Malik Willis, however, was not present at practice. He has a right shoulder injury, but said Dec. 23 that he intended to play against the Ravens if Love isn’t available. He was listed as limited for the team’s walk-through Dec. 23.

Several players have been listed on the injury report with illnesses, so it’s possible he was sick. The Packers will have to list why he missed the practice in their injury report released later in the day.

Love was knocked out of the Packers’ 22-16 overtime loss to the Chicago Bears Dec. 20 because of a concussion. He took part in a walk-through Dec. 23 and would have been estimated to be a limited participant had it been a full practice.

This time, Love will at least be listed as limited since he took part in the pre-practice drills.

Because the rest of practice is closed to the media, it’s unclear whether Love took part in any of the full 11-on-11 drills. The team was practicing in shells and sweat pants.

Here’s an update on the other injuries:

Running back Josh Jacobs injury update

Josh Jacobs, who played just 28 snaps against the Bears, and carried 12 times for 36 yards and caught two passes for 12 yards, appeared to be doing everything in the open period of practice.

He has been dealing with lingering knee troubles and did not practice last week.

RT Zach Tom update

Veteran tackle Zach Tom missed the Bears game with back and knee injuries and his status this week remains up in the air after he didn’t practice again.

Tom was listed as “did not participate” in the Dec. 23 walk-through and was working out on the side with the trainers during practice Dec. 24.

Second-year pro Jordan Morgan started for Tom and would probably be the starter if Tom can’t play.

S Evan Williams update

Another starter who missed the Bears game, safety Evan Williams was back on the practice field, doing all the individual drills.

Williams said he was doing better and was hopeful he could play against the Ravens.

TE Josh Whyle update

Tight end Josh Whyle, who suffered a concussion against the Denver Broncos on Dec. 14 and missed the Bears game, took part in the individual drills. He was listed as limited in the walk-through the previous day.

The Packers were down to Luke Musgrave and John FitzPatrick against the Bears and then lost FitzPatrick to a season-ending Achilles injury. If Whyle can play, the Packers might not have to bring up one of their practice squad tight ends since they can use tackle Darian Kinnard as a blocking tight end.

LB Kristian Welch update

Veteran linebacker Kristian Welch (ankle) was not present for practice and will be listed as “did not participate” for a second straight day. Welch, a top special teams player, injured his ankle against the Bears.

WR Bo Melton update

One of the players struck by illness, receiver Bo Melton missed a second straight day of practice.

NT Quinton Bohanna update

Nose tackle Quinton Bohanna was back at practice after missing the walk-through due to illness.

WR Romeo Doubs update

After injuring his wrist against the Bears on an onside kick, Doubs was a full participant for a second straight day.
