Liam Murphy comes to Purdue basketball with one primary purpose: Make 3-pointers. He averaged 3.3 makes (top 15 in the nation) on 7.7 attempts from long range (42.3%) at North Florida in 2024-25.

The Boilers made 38.2% of their 3-pointers in their Sweet 16 season, 16th in the nation. Braden Smith (38.1%) and Fletcher Loyer (44.4%) shot the bulk of Purdue's 3s, but C.J. Cox (39.8%) also contributed, and the departed Camden Heide and Myles Colvin showed flashes from long range.

The 6-foot-7 Murphy started as a sophomore at Columbia but has mostly come off the bench since. An ankle injury shortened his 2022-23 season, and hip surgery sidelined him all of 2023-24.
